THE ORIGIN OF ORGANIZED BILLIARDS IN LATIN AMERICA GOES BACK TO THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, IN THE DECADE OF THE THIRTIES, WHEN IN SOME OF OUR COUNTRIES LEADERS AND PLAYERS WANTED TO HOLD ORGANIZED COMPETITIONS OF CAROM BILLIARDS, MAINLY IN THE SPECIALITIES OF STRAIGHT BILLIARDS, 1- CUSHION AND SQUARE CAROM

IN 1954 IN BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA, THE SOUTH AMERICAN BILLIARD CONFEDERATION ( CSB ) IS BORN, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF ARGENTINA, BOLIVIA, URUGUAY, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR, PERU AND CHILE. ON JUNE THE 1ST, 1959 THIS ORGANIZATION TOGETHER WITH THE EUROPEAN BILLIARD CONFEDERATION ( CEB ) FOUNDED THE UNION MONDIALE DE BILLARD ( UMB ) ACOMPLISHING A GREAT ROLE AND LAYING THE BASIS OF WHAT WE HAVE TODAY WE REMEMBER JUANITO CAMACHO OF BOLIVIA, ADOLFO SUAREZ, SIXTO JAUREGUI AND ADOLFO SUGUIMIZU OF PERU, GALO LEGARDA OF ECUADOR, ALFONSO (POTE ) GONZALEZ AND MARIO CRIALES OF COLOMBIA, THE NAVARRA BROTHERS AND MARCELO LOPEZ OF ARGENTINA, NELSON GARIN OF URUGUAY, ROGELIO ALVARADO OF PANAMA, HERNAN BUSTOS OF CHILE, TEMILO MORAN OF VENEZUELA, AND J. FOR SOME TIME NOW IN ARGENTINA AND URUGUAY MANY EVENTS HAVE BEEN HELD OF CASIN OR 5-PINS AS WE KNOW IT TODAY. IT IS ONLY UNTIL NOVEMBER 12TH OF 1985 WHEN THE NAME OF LATIN AMERICAN BILLIARD CONFEDERATION ( CLB ) ACQUIRES LEGAL STATUS

THIS GOAL HAS NOT YET BEEN ACHIEVED

RIGHT AFTER THIS MEETING DIFFERENT COMPETITIONS TOOK PLACE MAINLY IN 3-CUSHION WHEN THE FIRST PANAMERICAN TITLE WENT TO THE ARGENTINIAN L DOYHARZABAL AT QUITO, ECUADOR EVEN THOUGH ACTIVITIES IN THE DIFFERENT BILLIARD SPECIALITIES HAVE INCREASED A GREAT DEAL SINCE THEN, VERY LITTLE CAN BE SAID OF ARTISTIC BILLIARDS IN 1999 IN PANAMA CITY UNDER THE PRESIDENCY OF VENEZUELAN VICTOR ROBAYO, THE ACT WAS SIGNED WHERE THE CPB STATUTES WERE CREATED AND THE ORGANIZATION WAS LEGALLY
